In 1983, the National Computer Council was formed by the government of Bangladesh. The name was changed to the Bangladesh Computer Council in 1990 by the Bangladesh Computer Council Ordinance. Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) is the apex statutory body of the Government of Bangladesh under Information & Communication Technology Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology (herein after “ICTD”) for the development of ICT in the country.
BCC runs and manages the National Data Center (NDC) of Bangladesh to achieve the Digital Bangladesh target. NDC provide numerous services mainly segregated in 3 categories: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). NDC was established in 2010.The National Data Center is the certified Tier-3 standard data center in the country where services provided in 24×7.
